Alberta Registered Midwives practice evidence based, women centered maternity and new born care and are an established part of the Alberta health care system.
Registered Midwives listen, observe, educate, guide and care. We order and interpret tests and discuss results as well as screen for physical, psychological, emotional and social health and refer to specialists when indicated.
Registered Midwives are fully funded under Alberta Health Services and are considered the experts in normal pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
